English as a Second Language (ESL) Training

The Association offers the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program in order to assist newcomers in their ESL studies. The Language School is located in St. John's and has a selection of resources to help you in working with newcomers.

The Association can provide:

Audio, visual, and printed ESL learning resources.

Consultation with an ESL instructor.

Training opportunities to assist sponsors in acquiring ESL tutoring skills and methodologies.

Career Development Services

The Association offers many services to assist newcomers with career development. These services range from resume writing seminars and job search assistance, to the facilitation of prior learning assessments and professional accreditation.

The Association can provide:

Career development resource materials.

Consultation services with a Career Development Consultant.

Opportunities to attend information sessions.

The Association is a multifaceted organization, with over twenty-five years experience and more than forty different programs and services for newcomers, that is here as a resource base for sponsor groups. Although we may be located many miles from a sponsor's hometown, we are as close as a phone call, fax, or e-mail. Feel free to contact us at any time.

These programs and services are designed to aid in the settlement, adaptation and integration of newcomers into Canadian society. Our services range from airport reception and accommodation, to counseling and referral. All of these services are delivered in a culturally sensitive manner and are complemented by a variety of programs designed to facilitate integration.
